HiFi Isolation Platform F iRAP 430mm wide x 300mm depth

These shelves are minimalist, attractive, practical, and they work. Our iRAP had aesthetic-looking chrome feet, but you can also select brushed chrome or black isolation feet. If you’re just a casual listener, the iRAP probably isn’t worth the high price tag to you, but if you’re a true hobbyist or professional, then they are a useful, discrete must-have. Pros: Easy to place anywhere Size options plus custom sizes Minimalist Noticeably improves sound 5/5

KR 20 Speaker Stands

"The speakers were tested in various positions in the room, including on the new Custom Design KR20 stands (around £250 a pair), chosen because the all-black, elegant, design, with the four supporting rods and a chunkier central stem, is perfectly in keeping with the carefully considered minimalist design of the prodigy1. It’s a matter of taste but I preferred the look of these to PMC’s recommended stand with its two hefty central columns which looks a bit fat-bottomed for the prodigy’s elegant proportions. " Bruce Black and the review of the PMC prodigy 1 - 15th September 2023

SQ 402 Speaker Stands

"These stands performed well in all categories. A function-over-form design built from quality materials. ‘Inert Filler’ is the finishing touch though. It allows these stands to improve your loudspeakers sound quality". HiFi & Stereo - Andrew Hutchison (Australia)

RS 302 Speaker Stands

"One final detail before we move on is a quick note on speaker stands. PMC has elected not to produce their own stand for the Prodigy 1 but instead has partnered with a company called Custom Design to produce a stand that’s suitable for the task… and a whole host of other speakers. A pair was supplied for testing and, at £250 unfilled or £290 with filler in the two solid vertical posts, they are very good value for money and would be an ideal choice for a large swathe of the circa £1k speakers we’ve tested over the last few years." Quad Revela 1 104 Signature XL Speaker Stands

Custom Design Quad Revela 1104 Signature XL Speaker Stands I recently bought a new pair of Quad Revela 1 loudspeakers, and having previously owned floor standers, I had to research the plethora of speaker stands available. Google soon revealed the website of Custom Designs – you can find it here. The website presents a host of Hi-Fi tables and stands, with all products designed and manufactured in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I spent a pleasurable time browsing the content and soon settled on either the FS104 or FS106 models. A brief conversation with the owner Paul about the size of the stand top plates soon led me to order the FS104’s. Despatch was very quick and the stands arrived very well packed together with their inert filler used to dampen any resonances from the centre column – read about it here . My new speakers are finished in glossy Piano Black, and so the black metal of the stands is appropriate, but I decided to elaborate their appearance by choosing brushed chrome for the four satellite columns and spikes. In my opinion these much enhance the appearance of the stands. Assembly was straightforward, with all necessary screws, Allen keys, spikes, spike covers and stick-on supports provided. The top and bottom plates are made from ‘Acoustic Steel’, an interesting product specially designed to dampen unwanted resonances. A most impressive page in the website describes this aspect of the stands, showing a graph of resonances reduced by the plates. You can see it here . The stands work extremely well with the Quads and the top plates are a perfect size to match the speaker base. The sound is detailed, crisp and clear; in fact, I can hardly imagine better. This together with their pleasing appearance which complements the speakers has led me to feel well satisfied.

FS 104 Signature XL Speaker Stands

These Custom Design stands have pedigree and integrity, the FS 104 Signature XL is engineered with care and attention as well as manufactured to a high-standard here in the UK, rather than in some far-flung sweatshop using dubiously sourced materials. I know that in the FS 104 Signature XL I have a product which will last and boost the performance of many small to medium-sized loudspeakers. They are a very welcome addition to my reviewing arsenal. Congratulations to Paul Morton for dedicating so much care and attention to creating such effective products.
