Speaker stands also need to provide a completely rigid, isolating speaker stand support. A totally isolated platform for your speaker to operate at the maximum performance they were designed to. This can be achieved through the integrity of the speaker stand, the number of supporting columns, the engineering incorporated in to the design, the type and number of fixings, the built in specialist Custom Design isolation converting resonance energy to negligible heat and varying thickness of materials or even CR4 oiled and pickled steel used for its quality and superior surface finish.

Speaker cabinets resonate most in the centre, therefore the best possible isolation point would be the corners, the most rigid part of their design. The FS 105 Speaker Stands are designed and manufacture by the craftsman at Custom Design to celebrate 40 years of Hifi Furniture Isolation, Specialist manufacturing. The FS 105 Speaker Stand Supports are hand made, hand finished and include M8 and M6 fixing bolts for total integrity. The hand finished 7mm Intra Specific Isolated base plate and 4mm acoustic steel top plate are manufactured using CR4 oiled and pickled mild steel and laser precision cut. The 4 x 25mm diameter light weight satellite supports combined with the 76mm ERW BS EN 10305-3 centre column provide a totally rigid speaker stand encapsulating the open frame speaker stand principle with the ability to easily mass loaded centre column with Inert Filler to control the bass frequency. 2 bags of Inert Filler is recommended per centre column support, but if the bass frequency requires more control then add another 0.5 of a bag per column.
The performance improvements are substantial, especially to the dynamic range which seems more open and free compared to conventional central, mass loaded designs. Stereo imaging and precision timing bring more excitement to your listening experience all with an accurate and controlled bass performance. The FS 105 Speaker Support Stands are a serious alternative to the usual option of speaker stand design.
The satellite support columns are available in Black as standard, with Polished Chrome or Brushed Chrome finish optional extra. The hand finished 4mm acoustic steel top plates are available with the standard dimensions of 160 x 210 x 4mm. Designed for the minimal effect on the performance of your speakers. The combination of the unique, 5 column support design provides a totally rigid, solid foundation for our customers who demand a more exciting and dynamic performance from their speakers.
Rigidity is proven integral design feature which improves sound performance. The Custom Design philosophy of multi column supports provides superior sound quality and performance over traditional single column support design speaker stands.
Custom Design do not use Aluminium in the construction of any speaker stand designs. The natural properties of aluminium prevent speaker stands from performing to the best of their ability as mechanical feedback can be prevented, just like over mass loading. Which will result in reducing the dynamic range and the depth of bass frequency.
